Description
This Pozzato sand and gravel treatment plant installed in Freiburg canton has been realized to treat aggregates 0 – 50 mm passing through a mobile primary screening plant. The conveyor belt of the mobile unit feeds the log washer that, in addition to melting the clay lumps included in the raw material, removes the lighter sand particles from the gravel.
The log washer overflow is treated onto a specific dewatering screen in order to divide the pieces of wood, coal, plastic, etc. from the slurry (made of water and solids < 4 mm) which is sent to the sand washing unit. The material treated into the log washer is selected by a vibrating rinsing screen fitted straight at the bottom in order to split:
- Particles < 4 mm which are sent into the sand washing unit, equipped with pump and hydro – cyclone systems in order to remove the silt and clay. The cyclone underflow is treated onto a specific dewatering screen to remove the excess water from the sand.
- Sand 4 – 8 mm, which is stocked on pile.
- Gravel 8 – 50 mm, which is sent onto the dry selection screen by a conveyor belt.
The dry vibrating screen produces the typical three fractions needed in batching plants:
- 8 – 16 mm
- 16 – 32 mm
- 32 – 50 mm
