Description

The Pozzato plant, installed in Trentino Alto-Adige, has been realized in order to treat 100 tph of aggregates (sand & gravel) with dimensions 0 – 350 mm, coming from several excavation sites.

After the primary screening and crushing unit, which reduces the material to 0 – 80 mm, a manual deviator (installed onto the discharge end of the main conveyor belt) allows it to be directed either to:

  • the dry screening unit, in order to obtain mixed aggregate products 0 – 30 mm or 0 – 60 mm in closed circuit, through the secondary impact crusher;
  • the washing process, which includes two rinsing vibrating screens and a log washer, in order to guarantee the best cleaning efficiency of the aggregates 4 – 8 mm, 8 – 16 mm and 16 – 32 mm, as well as the removal of organic particles often included in the feeding material.

A sand washing unit allows the production of sand 0 – 4 mm perfectly constant over time, as the < 2 mm fraction is dosed into the < 4 mm product according to the customer’s needs.

If the percentage of the fines into the feeding material is too high, or if the market requires it, a manual deviator allows the production of 0 – 2 mm sand separately from the 0 – 4 mm one.

After the washing stage:

  • the fraction 32 – 80 mm is stocked on pile (if the market requires it) or it is sent to the secondary impact crusher in order to obtain aggregates 0 – 32 mm in close circuit;
  • any surplus of the 4 – 8 mm and/or 8 – 16 mm and/or 16 – 32 mm fractions is processed on a dewatering screen to remove the water in excess, and sent (via a special system electronically managed by the operator from the control room) to the tertiary crushing unit to increase sand production.

The plant’s output and energy consumption are constantly monitored and managed by a PLC, which includes volumetric sensors installed on the main conveyor and on those used for stockpiling the various final products. Finally, the final products are stored in specific concrete bays, built directly straight under the plant.
